Prenuptial Agreement / Children
Starting a marriage with children
from a prior marriage is not an impediment to either the
marriage or the establishment of a Prenuptial
Agreement, as long as the typical issues that are a
set part of raising children is addressed in advance.
Unless and until the new spouse legally adopts the
children of the other new spouse, most of
the provisions regarding children is common sense.
Typically the issues involve where will the children
live, how will child care, medical costs, school costs,
clothing, etc., be paid for. Anyone who has children
knows that making decisions in advance regarding non-financial
matters, such as how the children are to be raised,
is best addressed in very general terms or not at all.
